Have you ever wondered what happens during a spiritual awakening? What to expect, how to prepare and why they happen in the first place? In this blog post, we will explore the six spiritual awakening stages and what they mean for your growth as a spiritual being. We’ll also discuss some tips for making space and time for a spiritual awakening in your life, as well as the two main ways that they can occur. Are you ready to awaken?
What is a Spiritual Awakening?
A spiritual awakening is a process that can often be described as a journey of self-discovery. It is a time when we begin to question our beliefs and values, and we start to search for answers to the big questions in life. This can be a scary and confusing time, but it can also be incredibly exciting and full of hope.
During spiritual growth, we often find ourselves drawn to spiritual practices such as meditation and yoga, which can help us to connect with our true selves. We may also find that we are attracted to new ways of thinking and being, which can lead us down some unexpected paths.
A spiritual awakening is an incredibly personal experience, and there is no single right or wrong way to do it. The most important thing is to stay open-minded and open-hearted, and to trust that you are exactly where you need to be.
They can manifest in many different ways, but often it’s simply a feeling of suddenly being more in tune with the world around us. We may have sudden realizations about things we’ve been pondering for some time, or we may find ourselves inexplicably drawn to certain people or places. But whatever form it takes, spiritual lessons can be a powerful force for good in our lives, helping us to manifest our deepest desires and leading us to our highest potential.
Why do we have spiritual awakenings?
<img class="lazyload" decoding="async" src="https://images.surferseo.art/10fb66b0-e714-4863-a3cb-28d173fc2cb7.webp" alt="Life purpose, daily life" />
A spiritual awakening is often described as a shift in perspective, a deeper understanding of who we are and what life is all about. But why do we have these awakenings? There are a number of theories that attempt to explain this phenomenon.
One theory suggests that our true self is waiting for us to remember it. This true self is our highest and best self, the part of us that is connected to the Divine. We spend our lives chasing after things that will make us happy, but true happiness can only be found within ourselves. When we have a spiritual awakening, we remember our true identity and begin to live from this place of truth.
Another theory holds that spiritual awakenings are a response to the suffering in the world. We see the pain and suffering around us and we long for something more. We begin to search for answers and meaning in life, and eventually we have a breakthrough moment where we see things more clearly.
Whatever the reason for spiritual awakenings, there is no doubt that they have the power to change our lives forever. These moments of clarity can show us who we really are and what we are here to do in life. They remind us of our connection to something larger than ourselves
The two ways we wake up to a spiritual awakening: Circumstance and Spontaneousness.
A spiritual awakening through circumstance usually happens after we’ve gone through a major life event, such as a divorce, the death of a loved one, or losing our job. These types of events can often be traumatic and shake our sense of security, causing us to question our beliefs and reevaluate what’s important to us.
A spiritual awakening can happen spontaneously, without any major life event triggering it. This is often described as an “awakening of the heart” and can happen when we least expect it. We may suddenly feel more connected to the world around us and have a greater appreciation for life. No matter how we experience a spiritual awakening, it can be a transformative experience that changes our lives forever.
The 6 stages of a spiritual awakening
The spiritual awakening journey is a process that can be both exciting and challenging. It is a time of great growth and transformation, as we open ourselves up to new ways of thinking and being.
There is no one right or wrong way to experience a spiritual awakening. Just as each individual is unique, so too is their spiritual journey. Some people may have a sudden awakening, while others may have a more gradual process.
There is no right or wrong timeline; everyone experiences their awakening in their own time and at their own pace. The most important thing is to be open to the possibility of change and growth. When we allow ourselves to be open to new experiences, we open the door to personal transformation. By keeping an open mind, we create the space for our own spiritual awakening. There are many different paths to a spiritual awakening, but most people experience six common stages:
1. Disillusionment
<img class="lazyload" decoding="async" src="https://images.surferseo.art/eea566ed-f0c8-4b1d-89e7-c6d284b7378e.jpeg" alt="feel lost" />
This is often the first stage, where we become aware of the limitations of our current beliefs and begin to question what we have been told. This can be a difficult and confusing time, but it is also an opportunity to discover new and more accurate ways of understanding the world.
Ultimately, disillusionment is a necessary part of life that helps us to grow and evolve. Without it, we would remain trapped in our outdated beliefs in our everyday life.
2. Seeking

The journey of seeking often begins with a single question. For some, that question is sparked by a moment of crisis or conflict. For others, it arises from a sense of restlessness or dissatisfaction. But regardless of its origins, the question leads us on a search for answers. This can take many forms, from reading texts to attending lectures and workshops. Sometimes the search leads us to new teachers and mentors, who help us to see the world in a different light. By doing so, we will eventually find our way to the truth that lies within us all.
3. Doubt

Once you’ve reached stage three of the spiritual awakening process, it’s normal to experience some doubt and confusion. After all, you’re starting to realize the world in a whole new way. Old ideas and beliefs that once seemed so solid are starting to fall away, and you may find yourself questioning everything you thought you knew in reality.
Doubt and confusion are actually signs that you’re on the right track. They indicate that your mind is opening up to new possibilities and that you’re beginning to let go of your old, limited ways of thinking. Allow yourself to explore this new territory without getting too attached to any particular beliefs.
Everything is temporary, including your current understanding of the universe. As your understanding grows, your doubt and confusion will eventually give way to clarity and certainty.
4. Opening

Once we’ve arrived at stage four of our spiritual path, we find ourselves in a state of openness. This is often described as a sense of oneness with the universe, or a deep connection to something greater than ourselves.
We may feel a sense of wonder and awe at the beauty around us, and a deep sense of love and compassion for all beings. Giving one hope for a meaningful life. We may also find ourselves more open to new ideas and experiences, and more interested in exploring our spirituality. This is a time of great growth and expansion, as we open our hearts and minds to new possibilities.
We are also more likely to experience Synchronicity during this stage, or meaningful coincidences that cannot be explained by chance. As we move through stage four, we become increasingly aware of the interconnectedness of all things, and our place in the larger scheme of things. We come to understand that we are not separate from the world around us, but rather an integral part of it.
This stage of spiritual awakening can be both immensely wonderful and challenging, as we let go of old beliefs and ways of being that no longer serve us. Ultimately, however, it is a time of great transformation and growth, as we step into our power as spiritual beings.
5. Transformation

The fifth stage of spiritual awakening is Transformation. In this stage, the individual undergoes a profound change in their consciousness. They may feel they have been reborn, and they are no longer bound by the limitations of their previous life. This change can be both physical and psychological, and it is often accompanied by a deep sense of peace and joy. The individual may also feel a strong sense of purpose and meaning in their new life. In some cases, the changes that occur during this stage are so significant that the individual may choose to leave their old life behind altogether and embark on a new path. However, regardless of the external changes that occur, the most important transformation during this stage is internal; it is a shift in the way the individual perceives themselves and the world around them.
6. Enlightenment

Spiritual enlightenment is the final stage of spiritual awakening. It is a state of complete unity with the divine, a oneness with all that is. In enlightenment, there is no separation between the self and the divine; they are one and the same. This state of being is characterized by an intense sense of love, peace, and bliss. It is a state of pure consciousness, free from all limitations. Enlightenment is the ultimate goal of the spiritual journey. It is a permanent state of illumination that opens up new dimensions of reality. Once attained, it can never be lost. Enlightenment is the highest potential that each of us can realize in this lifetime.

A spiritual awakening can be a powerful and life-changing experience. However, it can also be a challenge to make space and time for such an experience. Here are a few tips for creating the conditions that will allow you to have a successful spiritual awakening:
1) Start by clearing your schedule. Make sure you have some free time in your day-to-day life so that you can dedicate yourself to your spiritual practice. Make an appointment with yourself for your spiritual practice.
2) Create a dedicated space for your practice. This can be as simple as setting up an altar in your home or setting aside a corner of your room as a sacred space. Incorporate things that represent your spiritual awakening or stuff you are drawn to. I have incorporated crystals, a buddha and also childhood toys.
3) Be patient and persistent. A spiritual awakening process can take time to develop, so don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t happen immediately. Keep at it, and eventually you will begin to see results.
There’s something special about spiritual awakenings. They can be life-changing experiences that leave us feeling happier, more connected, and more in tune with the world around us. And while each awakening is unique, there are some common patterns and steps that many of us go through. One must each take their own path.
One helpful way to track your spiritual awakening process is through journaling. Each day, take a few minutes to write down your thoughts and experiences. Did you have any spiritual insights or moments of clarity? Did you feel more connected to nature or the universe? Did you notice any changes in your physical body or energy levels?
Journaling can help you see the progress you’re making and the different stages of your spiritual journey. It can also be a valuable tool for reflection and contemplation. So if you’re on the path to spiritual awakening, don’t forget to pick up a journal and start writing down your experiences!
